CHAMPIONSHIP

Our club championship runs throughout the year and is a great way to join in with local races, set yourself new goals and have some fun competing against others from the club.


The champs include race categories of varying distances and terrains, and a parkrun championship.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

Each year, we choose a number of local races throughout the year that fall under four catagories: Short Road (5K), Medium Road (10k), Long Road (10mile+) and Fell/Off-road.

The first DAC runner to cross the finish line gains 10 ponts, the second gains 9 points, the third gains 8 points etc etc. The 10th,11th,12th etc runners all gain 1 point each. 

There is a male and female catagory. 

There are six races in each catagory, however it's your best four races that will be included in the final result. This takes the pressure off trying to attend all races. 

You have to be representing Derwent AC in the races. If you race wearing another clubs kit, you will not get points towards our club champs for that race.

​​Results and prizes for both club champs and parkrun champs will be handed out at our Christmas Party / AGM in December.

PARKRUN CHAMPS

The parkrun championship encourages memebers to join in with our local parkruns throughout the year. It's not about the fastest time overall, but improving your age-grade percentage. Here is how it works:

​

  • You have one month to complete your chosen parkrun. Your fastest time in that month determines your highest age-graded percentage. 

  • Ensure your parkrun profile lists Derwent AC as your club, for easier results checking. 

  • At the end of the month, send your score to Naomi via WhatsApp or the DAC social media pages. 

  • If you don't complete a parkrun during the month, you'll recieve a default score of 30%. 

  • Later in the year, you'll have a second chance to improve your score or record one if you missed the first attempt. 

  • Average age-graded percentages will be calculated, and the top male and female will be announced at the Christmas Party/AGM in December.
